Barcelona dia tres

How much do we love Barcelona?  I know there isn’t a ton of pictures to show because…well we’ve been taking it easy here.  The atmosphere is casual and understated, and we are enjoying it.  We wander around, stop for tapas and drinks, wander some more, nap in the afternoon to prepare for our late dinner and evening.  That’s it.  It actually feels like a holiday.  So far I love Spain.  The streets are great for walking, theysay they are the most wheelchair friendly place in Europe, and I believe it.  And with that, it makes it so much easier to walk.  The bathrooms are modern….considering at points in Italy I was squatting over a hole…this is a nice treat.

The evenings are beautifully warm, just enough to be comfortable with one layer of clothes, we didn’t need jackets or sweaters, and the people are out in full force.

We walked down to the Port in the evening with the intention of taking a taxi back up to our hotel, but decided to hop on a pedi-cab.  We had a mini tour up to our hotel through a city park where people were walking around at 11 like it was 7.  They don’t have a lot of physical crime in the city, more petty crime like pickpockets.

We met a friendly couple from South Africa who we were seated next to and enjoyed some Sangria with them.  Tomorrow we leave and are off to experience a BnB on our way to San Sebastien.
